I'm so glad my kids' school nixed the concurrent model, though some parents are flaming mad (because they want the option of both). They are doing a model where IP and DL do different things. I think it's still tough on the teacher who has to manage schedules for two different groups, but not as impossible as concurrent.

OP here. Sometimes McSweeney's is funny because it's true, no? The parenting articles often hit very close to home.
As a teacher doing hybrid with some outdoor classes, too, that article made me want to hyperventilate. I love mcSweeney’s but that cut a little too close to home.

OP here. Sometimes McSweeney's is funny because it's true, no? The parenting articles often hit very close to home.

It's crazy. McSweeney's is supposed to be humor/sarcasm, but this is truly it. We are asking too much of our teachers under the concurrent model. It's not going to work.

That said, one of my kids has THAT teacher, the one who has 100 directions, gives insane amounts of homework and she cannot seem to modify expectations for online. Sure kids can draw a graph in person, but now you have to open this tab, download this app, type in here, then use the ap to do x, y, and z and add a graph. Oh and please do that for every problem!
OP here. One of my kids has THAT teacher too. Of course, that kid is learning the most in the family, so I've decided it might just be what it takes.

I am now a SAHM, but this reminds me so vividly of teaching. Just do this one little thing. But there are already a million little things. It’s just two minutes, but there are no extra minutes. Etc.
