I’m not sure it’s the death of online dating, but I don’t necessarily think it would be such a bad thing if it was. I’d love to see dating go back to traditional. I think online dating has actually hurt the dating world. Too many choices, easy to juggle multiple people, easy for married folks to cheat.
Profiles decreased because none of the married men and women have an excuse to leave the house.
Let’s not kid ourselves, online dating has always been primarily about sex.
+1 I also know 2 couples that had divorced and both parties were OLD. They ended up getting back together during covid because they were passing the kids back and forth and trying not to get sick. I’m curious if they’ll remarry or go back to being divorced after all this ends.

Guy here. I seem to be having better luck within the last month. I attribute that to cuffing season, but also I think the algorithms are starting to go my way. One you get a match with one woman, you start to show up to other woman, and the more matches or likes you get, the more women start seeing you.
I also choose a better primary picture that I think is working better.

In April/May there was a lot of dancing around the topic of if people were actually willing to meet. By June it was back to normal. It may shift some again when the weather is cold and outdoor dining isn’t so easy. 14th Street was packed tonight.

I’ve been doing OLD since a June. I don’t think it’s dead. Lots of dates with lots of different people.

Subject: The death of online dating
The pandemic has really killed online dating. The conversations are even more superficial, most just want sex (even with the rise in covid cases). Could the pandemic force single people to go back to traditional dating once we have a vaccine?
