I'm a PP. Yea, it's supposed to be FOR THE PUBLIC. It's not supposed to be for a private group to monopolize every weekday morning so that no one else can use it. We all know the difference between a "crowded" public park (with many sets of children/parents) and a park that is overrun with daycare kids. It's not the same thing.

Also, I kind of have a feeling a lot of you saying "LOL it's a public park, it's for everyone" have kids in these daycares and don't really understand how your kids are running wild around these playgrounds with basically no supervision.

I know they have the right to be there, but they don't really supervise the kids properly and they march right up next to other people using the park so if you want to social distance you have to leave.

And again there's like 100 kids with no distancing at all. If COVID got into that daycare it'd burn through that daycare like wildfire.

If it’s a public park, they have as much right to be there as you. Find another more secluded park if it bothers you.

I sympathize. The daycare charges big bucks, then uses a public resource (the park next door) as their private playground. Annoying at any time, but especially so during covid where social distancing is important.

Maybe you can complain to the city, or whoever regulates daycares, because it sounds like the daycare definitely isn't observing the 10 foot social distancing guidelines.

I'm PP and I have two kids! Honestly, that makes it even worse - I'm trying to keep track of two kids while a zillion other unsupervised kids swarm around and do unsafe stuff.
I feel like an analogy is like if you want to go to a coffee shop (pre-covid...) and then you go and there's a business with 15 employees who monopolize the coffee shop for their morning meeting. Like, sure, they can do that I guess, but I feel like it's rude and they should get their own office space.

This is normal. Daycares and preschools go to public parks.

Yeah it's a public park. I know I can't really keep them from using the park but the fact that they're kind of blatantly ignoring social distancing and making it so no one else can use the park is extremely annoying. It's every single weekday and I don't feel comfortable taking my kid there when they're out there.

I live near a daycare in Alexandria and I have to say it's extremely annoying how they basically put all the kids in the daycare in a park near our house. They definitely aren't properly socially distancing (huge groups of kids from different classes all out there together) and they fill the park with their kids from all classes. It makes it so no one else can use the park in the morning. Super annoying. I know they need to take the kids out, but what they are doing is not ok.
