Reviving an old thread.

I need a blow dryer, one that won't fry my hair and is also lightweight. I have medium hair, not difficult to style.

I love the idea of the Dyson, but I can't justify forking over $400 when I'm sure there are others on the market that can get the job done without needing to break the bank.

Budget Max: $250 if that's possible.

I bought an expensive one keep reaching for my compact travel dryer because it is so light....

I have a Japanese hair dryer that's magic-- 70 percent quieter than a normal one, dries faster yet gets less hot. I don't know how this is possible, but the Japanese did it. I got it on Amazon for <$100.

I have a Twin Turbo I bought from my salon over 10 years ago and that is my favorite. It is the most powerful I've tried. I got the Dyson as a gift and ended up returning it, it just felt weak and like it took forever to dry my hair. I also have fine hair but lots of it.

Those are nice, I almost bought one, but ended up with a similar model from ghd. It's been great. Like the other PP, I haven't used it much since March, but did a couple days ago on a colder morning, and my hair looked so much better.

I have and LOVE the Julien Farel hair dryer. Its about $100 and the best hair dryer I've ever used. Dries my hair faster than anything I've had without getting way too hot and frying my already dry hair. Its a nice higher end blowdryer for not sky high prices.

Dyson doesn't fry hair - it is more power but less heat. That said, it may be more than what you need for fine hair. I have very thick and wavy hair and it is a godsend.

I have the Harry Josh green hair dryer after using generic ionic hairdryers for a while. My hair is mid-back length, fine, but I have lots of it, generally straight to maybe bendy (wouldn't call it a wave). I think this dryer is a lot better than any others I have used. I considered the Dyson one, but I think it fries hair like mine based on reviews.

Any others?

You might want to research ionic dryers. If I recall correctly ionic hair dryers produce an electromagnetic field that is about 200 to 400 Gauss, a level that can cause cancer in children.

My pandemic hair is getting fuller — but in a weird bendy way. Wondering if I can get more for my hair out of a blow dryer.
