I'd only do this if I could see pictures of them before meeting them (and I would offer the same). Just doesn't make sense to waste everyone's time if there's no physical attraction.

Sure, but I would have low expectations. He guy who is setting you up is much older than you and friends with his dad.

It is likely a recently divorced friend of his. But who knows. Maybe it is his retirement age partner's hot son.

This is better than meeting with randos on dating apps! They are probably not serial killers.

I think it's fine. He doesn't know you, but if you are from approximately the same class, have similar backgrounds, you already have that ... and chemistry is really random and nobody can predict it, so a random set up is just as good, possibly better, than a matchmaking system where you try to match interests.

As other have posted, this sounds 100x better than online dating.

Me too! Remarried to someone who was introduced to me by a mutual friend!

Online dating is really hard and weird.

I know a couple who was mutual friends with both the guy and girl. He set them up and they have been happily married for over 10 years. I would do it. You really never know.

Heck I’m 31 and have a GF who is 44 and I set her up with my Dad who is 58. They are both very thankful!

I'd do that before online dating.

Agree with this poster. You are safer than a blind date via tinder or bumble. You will certainly get the real name of the person you will go on a date and they will actually be single.

OP: yeah you may have a point. He's friends with my dad because their beach houses are next to each other. We kind of only know each other in the context of our summers.

I'm 32, this man is 46 and friends with my dad. My dad mentioned to him that I'm single. His friend said he knows a couple of guys he wants to set me up with. Would you do this?
