I just voted at my satellite center and the wait was less than 30 minutes. I arrived shortly before 4 on a Friday.

FWIW, this morning, (Thurs) it was 1.5-2 hr line. Friday mornings tend to be similar.

But, by 2:30, the line was about 35-45 min.

I bet if you came even later on a Tues/Wed/Thurs the line would be less.

There are so many options. You don't have 3-4 hr waits anymore. Most often it is 1 hr.

Yes, last week. The wait was about an hour, which wasn’t that bad because the weather was lovely.

What was NOT lovely was being in line next to people who were very obviously trumpers. They weren’t advertising it or wearing clothing with propaganda on it, but you could still tell who they supported. White supremacists and nazis just have that certain “look” about them.

I wasn’t really all that scared. But I could definitely see how an Immigrant or POC would be very, very intimidated by being forced to stand in line next to people like that. It’s ridiculous that we expect those people to face that kind of danger just to cast a vote.

We should be voting by party, at separate locations. Or on separate days. Dems can vote on the first Tuesday of November, and rethuglicans can wait and vote the next day!

I posted on the other Fairfax polling place thread too, repeating it here. I voted this morning at the Government Center. I was in line just before 9 am, was out by 9.45 am. The line did not seem much longer when I was leaving.

Bring your own black pen - they have pens but those are not great.

I was at TJ Library at 3:15 Tuesday and it took me 45 min. The line was shorter when I left. A bunch of neighbors went to the Mason District govt center when it opened - different days - and it was like 1.5 hr. If you're on NextDoor - I've seen a bunch of threads where people are sharing their wait times; pretty helpful.

Voted yesterday at the county government center. Line looked long but moved steadily. Got in line around 3pm and finished around 4. Not as bad as I was expecting! Good Covid safety procedures.

DH went to a satellite location and waited about 45 minutes.

Typically one hour or less.

I suggest also trying some satellites like Providence.

I’ve heard that lines at the government center are shorter now that the satellite locations are open, but that lines at some of the satellite locations are very long.

DH went this am, got in line around 7:30 am (They open at 8) and was done by 8:30.

Was wondering if the lines are still significant or if you can just walk in now....
