Spend $30 on the ikea set and don't worry about it. The kid will color all over it. Ours is going strong after 5 years. We have the Melissa and doug one too but its square and taller.

We got a very basic Ikea set (unfinished wood with white veneer for the table top and chair seats) with one table and 2 chairs. I was willing to spend a couple hundred and looked at dozens of more expensive sets, but a lot of the chairs were more complicated than what we wanted or I was worried about the size. Our ikea set cost like $30 -- I thought it was going to be a stop gap measure until I could find something better.

Well, it's been two months and it's perfect. She loves sitting at it, and since the table and chairs are very lightweight, she can move it around herself, which is actually a big feature. She likes to set her babies (stuffed animals) up at the table or move the chairs to pretend they are a car. The set is basically a toy but is also practical, as she can do art projects and read books at it as well.

Second IKEA.

We have a dark wooden one from Melissa and Doug we love. It’s from Amazon and has worked great since 18 months or so. Comes with two chairs.

We like our IKEA kids table and chair set (white, wood, with 4 chairs).

We've had it for a decade and it still looks brand new. My kids (now 10 and 13) still use it sometimes. I can sit comfortably at it too.

I think it is important that you can sit at it somewhat comfortably, especially at 2 kid will want that.

Delta Children’s has a sturdy table and chair set on amazon. It comes in a bunch of colors including pink, brown, royal blue, and teal. Easy to set up. We use it as a play and craft table.

A kid's table set? We had the kid Kraft one which was great. My very tall DD was able to use it until about age 6, when it was still an ok fit, but starting to get tight. We bought it when she was 1.5 years old. My younger one used it too. We only moved on because she needed a slightly higher table for virtual learning.
