What type of private training or individual training is most useful for your DC? Are there certain types of drills that is most useful or effective? I know this is a loaded question but I’m looking for recommendations for around 6 most effective skills to master for my U13 DD.

NP. In my humble opinion:

#1: Being able to pass/shoot effectively with both feet. Working on her weak foot, not just her dominant.

(In no particular order):

Good first touch
Being able to pass/shoot with inside of both feet AND laces of both feet
Being able to bring the ball down out of the air
Learning to manipulate the ball with different surfaces of foot(inside/oustide/sole)
Dribbling

This all depends on intensity level.

It’s not the quantity of weekly practices but the quality of practices that is important. Hence, is she typically exhausted after practices or training?

Look at diet and sleep.

Seems way too much to me, I would be concerned about injuries and burnout.
3 practices and one game a week is enough at this age, and she can do some technical drills on the side if she chooses to (not because her soccer-crazy parent thinks it is essential).
Devoting more time to other (academic, social, cultural) activities would make more sense to me.

Sounds like reading and comprehension is lacking in your comment. I believe OP used the word "OPTIONAL" private training. Optional- available to be chosen but not obligatory.....

How much time is spent on the commute?

We found that the drive to and from practice, along with the 'down time' (i.e. early arrival warmup, post-practice getting off the field, showers, etc) was almost as much time as we spent actually on the field. After school, practice + commute(etc) ended up being the biggest block of time each week and affected our kid's ability to try other things, homework, relax.

I guess it gets down to "where are you going with this?" If you are seriously considering a college playing career, than no, it's part of the process. If not, then it's a huge amount of time that could be spent on more diverse interests.

OP here. The reason for us pulling in private training is because she's not tired after team practices. Her typical practice is maybe 20 minutes ball drills and the remaining practice consist of small sided scrimmages. Her private training consists of speed and agility, shooting and ball drills. I have a feeling she's getting more out of the personal trainers then practices.

I’m the PP.

Based upon what you said, it doesn’t sound too much.

I agree with private training. My DD has very good foot skills from her private practices as well. I don’t believe any team practices that focused that much on ball skills, etc. as the coach expects players to practice this during their personal time.

Agree, most coaches expect their kids to be putting in the individual work outside of their team practices. As they get older the practices start moving towards tactical training with some technical training for areas the coach sees are lacking like finishing, tighter passing, ball control

U11 has three practices a week 1 or two games on weekends plus keeper training once a week and another optional training
