If you are renting a house for 9 months, you have move there. That isn't a vacation. Its fine to go on vacation for a week (taking away the covid issue and then its not ok) or even two weeks but that's different then moving for the school year.

Yep. It's too risky for teachers and staff to worry about the needs of children, but the parent is wrong for trying to make the best of the bad situation. Ridiculous.

This is especially awful because this is a single parent. I’m having enough trouble with all this in a two-parent household, I can’t imagine. I‘ve thought about driving across country to be near family for the duration, just to give us some more options. Sounds like this dad was just trying I do right by his kids.

I know several of my students who are doing this. These are not normal times. Families need to support each other. This might mean moving for a time. I have no intention of calling them out.
