I come from a very large family and when my mother died my sister said "you do realize that you were mom's favorite." I was born with a challenging physical disability and had numerous operations as a child and I'm sure that created a special bond. She was thrilled when I got married because it meant that some other woman would now be watching out for me.

We were sitting on a sofa and I was complaining about some part of me and my brother said to stop talking about myself that way I'm beautiful. It's the last conversation I had with him that I remember before he died. Nothing too special but I still remember it.

My SIL once cornered me when we were all at my in-laws for a holiday to tell me she was thankful that I was part of their family and that I was good for her brother and that she appreciated that I cared about her parents. It took me off guard as we've always been friendly but because we're different in age and live far part we're not particularly close.

My verified genius brother told me I'm his only sibling who is smarter than him.

In his speech at my wedding, my brother publicly apologized for all the annoying stuff he did to me growing up. He also sends me super nice, effusive birthday cards now. He’s single, so there’s no wife picking out the cards. He has also closes phone conversations by saying “love ya.”

I have 3 siblings. We're cordial, but I don't remember any "best" or even complimentary things they've ever said.

I do however, always remember the worst and incredibly unkind things, and am the youngest - they always complained and criticized me. I've tended to be the positive, supportive, caretaker one in my family. But in the past few years I've gotten over the desire to get their approval and please. We get along ok, but I don't care if they "like" me or not anymore.

Nothing! I’m the only one who hands out compliments.

My sister *says* a lot of good things about me, but they're really so over the top and I know her personality well enough after 40 years that I know to brace myself for the chaser of a cold steel knife edge sliding into my back whenever she starts. We've been sisters for a long time and I love her, but she just cannot help herself using effusive praise to lay the groundwork for guilting family members into getting what she wants.

My mom was really into fairness between my brother and myself. She had a condo that she wanted to leave to my brother, and I'd get the equivalent in stocks/bonds, and we were to split up the rest.

After she died, the attorney informed me that he didn't write it up that way, my brother got the condo and then we split up evenly whatever else was left. So my brother was getting a condo in addition to half her estate.

I told my brother and he said, "no, sis, you and I both know that's not how mom would have wanted it, so we'll just divide it like we know it's supposed to be."

And we did. I had no legal leg to stand on, and honestly, I would have just dropped it if he had wanted to take it, but he didn't. I think he didn't even mention the mistake to his wife, because she can get grabby.

I know that he just did the morally right thing, so on some level I shouldn't be so grateful, but I am.

I’m so lucky to have a twin sister and a brother that is 15 months older. My brother is a little more distant and not quite as in touch. But when my mom died after a three day illness, he told my sister and me how proud he was of us and to be our brother. My mom’s sudden death is still horrible. But I’m so proud of how close and bonded the three of us have become because of it.

My sister, nothing. Sadly. I don't think she's ever said anything nice about me or to me.

My sister once told me I saved her life, twice. It's true, but I loved that she acknowledged it.

The best compliment I got was from my smartest sister, who we all look up to as having the absolute best taste, who told me I was funny.
