My kids go to day care and we socialize indoors with those families. Our kids already spend the day together unmasked (they are young) so we aren’t increasing our risk by doing this.

Not to hijack, but we've been wondering what kind of heaters are safe to use in a screened porch. Can you share what kind you bought? We're not going to be socializing indoors either.

I would not socialize w other adults indoors. I’m the least cautious of my circle so that says a lot. I would let me kids continue to have indoor or outdoor play dates. I’d ask them to wear masks though. My kids are extroverts and need their friends. Our kids are at school (private) though so they are already inside in classrooms. Maybe that’s why I’m comfortable sort of?

We ordered heater and 6 electric blankets so we can all sit outside by the fire pit. If it’s raining on thanksgiving we will do inside with brother and sister in law only and windows and doors open, heat turned up.

My small group has been doing outdoor dinners since restaurants reopened their patios. We will continue doing this until it gets really cold. We are hoping places have heaters on order. A friend is starting to have us over for outdoor football viewing on Sunday too.

I also don’t want to do things indoors and plan to stick to that. BUT I think there will be enough people with similar rules that my kids still will have some kids to play with. And, if not, we’ve been out so much lately in prep for the winter that I feel ok with it. We will still try to get outside in the winter.

I’ll take walks with a friend and wear snow pants if I must.

We will do fire pit gatherings as long as we can.

I am wondering this too. All the kids in our neighborhood go to different schools and some of them are in person right now. So I'm not comfortable doing anything indoors.

I gave up planning for anything back in March though. Things can change at any time and we'll figure it out when it happens.

Look like the only "friend" I'll be seeing this fall and winter is the raven at the bird sanctuary I am going to volunteer at. Fingers crossed for a safe vaccine ASAP.

We’ve hung out with a group of friends/their kids outdoors over the past months but I don’t feel comfortable being indoors all together when it gets colder. The rest of them do so I worry about us this winter - I have a social family and know it’s going to impact them especially. There’s the feeling of being left out on top of everything else. But all of the science shows that being indoors for extended period with groups is risky. What are you doing?
