They are of course also found it this way because it allows them to provide instruction to the group that selects “virtual” without having a separate cadre of teachers.
I’m not at all convinced they will actually return to school this year but I can see this is the only real option. This is what other schools including private are doing.
At the ES level it simplifies many things. One lesson plan for all students in a grade level, twice the material covered in a week. Hybrid plus DL is actually a lot more work. Concurrent instruction is not a new thing. It can be done well, even for young kids. And it’s better than only having two days a week with a teacher, compared to the four people have right now.
