a few years ago BCBS standard covered diagnostics as well as monitoring for TI with a copay. I did a few rounds of clomid and letrozole but only had MMCs for my efforts. It was clear that IUI wouldn't really improve anything for me, so I eventually jumped to (donor egg) shared risk with SGF. Still getting MMCs, unfortunately, even with PGS-tested donor egg embryos.

I found it helpful to use BCBS for diagnosis, bloodwork, etc. Used Carefirst that covered up to 6 IUIs. After we suffered an ectopic
after the 2nd IUI, we moved on to Shared Risk with SGF which ultimately proved successful with our 1st FET transfer. Federal insurance doesn’t cover IVF. We used a TSP loan to pay for it. What we did is put IVF on our credit card for points ( might as well which we used for flights to visit family) and paid it off with our TSP loan. Probably more information than you wanted.

They will, or did, cover most of the testing procedures (blood work, ultrasound, HSG) but nothing after that. None of the federal healthcare plans cover treatments for fertility except certain medications, which if you need much more than clomid isn't really any help.

What, if anything can I expect to be covered in terms of fertility evaluation or treatment? Any clinics that accept this?
