My aunt is not stable and tagged me in a late term abortion ad/post. I’m 8 months pregnant. I long ago turned on approval of tags and my mom doesn’t allow them at all. I wish you could block just one person from tagging. Maybe a short blanket ban on tagging to break the habit?

I don't think this is a help-me-understand-Facebook-settings thread. It's more like a my-MIL-is-a-c*** thread, and I want too vent/whine/complain.

One way to deal with this, though not the most forthright or transparent, is to temporarily deactivate. When you go back on a few weeks later, block the accounts you don’t want to deal with and make friends list so that you can decide who sees what content of yours. The blocked people will never know that you logged back on.

What is the point of tagging someinf in every post, if they are not the subject of the post or in the picture? Why do people do this?

Me three. I’d just tell MIL you don’t allow tags for privacy reasons and to minimize posts on your feed. If others aren’t tagging you either then (I don’t allow). Then it isn’t specifically directed at her .If I want to post something I post it myself or share it. If she posts a cute pic or something, share something of hers once in awhile.

I have Facebook set up so no one can see me tagged unless I approve it. Works well with SIL who doesn't think before she tags.

If my MIL noticed and said "you hurt my feelings when you remove the tag!" I'd respond with "then please stop tagging me"

Done.

I'd put her in a group that can't tag you in anything.

This is why I am not on FB. Every annoying family member with poor boundaries tracks you down and drives you nuts.

I quit Facebook because the way I wanted to use it did not coincide with the way my family, in-laws, and coworkers wanted to use it. I realize that once I was connected to those people on FB, it became awful. So I just deleted my account and not everything is copacetic.

My MIL is an excessive FB user and posts multiple times a day. She tags me and a few family members and friends on every single post. Sometimes I remove the tag, but she noticed and says she hurt. Does anyone else do this? I usually tag someone in a photo but that’s it. I don’t get the reasons for all the tags and find it pretty annoying.
