This is super reasonable. I'd like to tell the director of my school about this. Is there anything more you can share? People who travel ANYWHERE will quarantine? Are you comfortable sharing which school? Do the kids and teachers wear masks inside and outside at your school?

That’s crazy but on the other hand I completely understand them. It’s only one month and they are doing it because you know families will be traveling and not quarantining. They don’t want to become a potential coronavirus hub.

It’s disappointing how the fear of the irresponsible few impact the majority of responsible people.

I feel the same way. If the kids are going to be off for weeks anyway why not travel to see family?

Ironically, keeping the preschools open would probably lessen travel.

No. No quarantine following domestic travel either. We're in Arlington.

Huh? How is this reasonable? Do they not realize that parents work during those months and need childcare?

My kid’s preschool has been open the entire time with exactly 1 case (a teacher who didn’t spread it to anyone else). I would be livid if they closed from Thanksgiving to January, absent any cases.

Mine is not. They are trusting us to use good judgement and self-quarantine if we choose to travel to a hot spot.

I like being treated like an adult again.

Preschools that are still around are not closing during this time. Don’t know about Beauvoir.
