+1 You did instigate OP. That said try to smooth it over. Life is too short to keep creating drama. You'll be happier if you stop now.

I would ignore and consider her mentally unhinged, and therefore not entirely responsible for her actions.

Some people overreact on social media. I wouldn't read too much into it.

I notice when I am deleted if someone suddenly looks at my stories out of nowhere and then deletes, mostly because I have under 100 followers and only use my account for personal reasons. I've been deleted by a few friends and one cousin and my MIL doesn't follow me. I don't worry about it. They have their reasons and it's none of my business.

I would just ignore.

I am sure this would feel like being canceled again to the crazy relative

Girl, don’t speak to this person again. I got rid of all my shitty family members and just focus on the ones who are worthwhile and life is so much better.

Ignore. And then ignore some more. If you see her at a family event, be totally polite, but make no mention of FB or anything else. If she brings it up, act confused. No way you want to even get into a conversation with someone who notices that someone they don't even interact with unfriended them.

At this point, I would block so that she can't message you. So weird that she noticed---it would take a long time before I noticed, if I noticed at all (particularly someone I never interact with.) Next time you see her, be cordial but distance if you have to interact with her.

Literally ignore would be the best revenge. Absolutely no response at all, ever. She is spoiling for a fight and a reaction. Give her nothing, it will drive her crazy.

I have a family member whose political BS I was tired of seeing day after day, so I deleted her from Facebook. I chose to delete instead of unfollow because I never post on her stuff, she never posts on my stuff, we don’t even see/talk to each other in real life, only if someone dies, basically. It was time for her to go. Almost immediately she sent me a FB message telling me, and I quote, that she was shocked I deleted her and that I had always been a terrible person and would always be a terrible person. (Ironically, she’s sort of always been a terrible person.)

Of course this seals the deal on the dissolution of our relationship, correct? Do I just ignore and move on? And at the next funeral or graduation or wedding or what not?
