None of the federal plans cover a cent of IVF costs.

I don’t think it matters which Aetna plan you have. SGF (and other clinics too) have negotiated rates with Aetna. That is the $7-8k mentioned above. So when they say this line item costs $1,000 out of pocket, if you bill to your insurance, that item will actually cost less because of the negotiated rate.

The Aetna rate at SGF for egg retrieval was $7-8k (excluding meds and testing) when I inquired a few months ago.

If you are going with SGF, they honored the Aetna rate if you had Aetna--- and it was a substantial discount! I would check if that is still the case but it was true as of 2019.

Yes, Kaiser's DC Standard Option 2020 Fed plan covered 50% of my IUI costs at SGF.

I think Kaiser may cover IUIs at SGF, but I’m not 100% sure of that.

Look at the federal regional Carefirst plans.

My BCBS fed plan covers diagnostics and half the cost of IUIs. Very angry and disappointed that there are no longer any plans that cover IVF.

I had BCBS, which covered some but not all of my ivf meds. Everything else we paid out of pocket. ☹️

Can any feds (in DC) recommend a plan that covers fertility treatment? It's my understanding that none cover IVF, but coverage of IUI, meds, and any other treatment/testing would be helpful.
