BUT...Do you think that the place you pick to retire is where you will end up in the years that you live after retirement? My parents have moved several times - sickenss, death, changed circumstances...
We have no idea when and where our circumstances change. People in California have lost their homes in the fire, sea levels are raising and people who buy homes in beach towns are foolish, racial violence is happening everywhere and the first of many devastating pandemics is raging. Boy, we have not yet have had to deal with MERS or Ebola or Anthrax where the mortality rate is 50%!!
You do not know if you or your families health and fortunes will remain the same. Look at Trump. With all the precautions and excellent care he was taking, someone infected him (probably an asymptomatic millennial advisor who has in the past been promiscuous in her associations with coworkers? Who knows.) So nothing is a given. How do you know you will be safe anywhere?
Wait- what precautions and excellent care was he taking? He rarely wore a mask and was frequently in rooms of unmasked people, most of whom weren’t millenial? Maybe you should move to the Villages in FL- it sounds like you would fit in there.
