There are previous threads here on St Joe’s. It’s in a location that’s literally on the edge of the city, bordering a suburban neighborhood. It has a pre-professional vibe. The students seem happy and nice, perhaps not as affluent as the Villanova students 20 minutes west.

Can anyone provide info that goes beyond the racial makeup of the student body?

14% Asian, 24% Black, 34% Hispanic, 24% White, 4% multiracial.

Mine (asian) would be too. Unfortunately most slac (not including the competitive ones) are over 70%+ white. It will be very uncomfortable and weird for my kid. Wish there were more options. Schools like Clemson, Wisconsin-madison, James Madison all are very white schools

You do realize that according to Census data about 70% of the U.S. population is white? It's not like schools where 70% of the students are white are somehow less diverse than the country as a whole. I'm not saying diversity is not important, I'm just pointing out that these schools are not lacking in diversity compared to the population.

I went to St. Joe's a long time ago, so I can't speak to its current programs. However, my parents and siblings are all products of Jesuit education and I appreciate that foundation of respect. Philadelphia is a fantastic city for a college student, and if your son liked college basketball, the Big 5 rivalry can't be beat.

You could also look at La Salle, similar profile decent Philly Catholic school in the same athletic conference, depending on the program you are looking for.

Good business school if you can't get in to the top ones.

It's nice. I've had nieces and nephews go there. It's not an academic powerhouse, but it has bright, enthusiastic, kind, happy kids. Jesuits are great. They seem strong in business. Great sports history, though I think it's not as strong at the moment. Pretty campus, just on the edge of Philadelphia, not a fantastic neighborhood but a safe one.
