I don't know if this counts as "real life", but it always irked me that Leah on Teen Mom named her twins Aleeah and Aliannah. And then calls one Ali, which auditorily could be a nickname for either one.

Francis and Frances. Francis went by Frank and Frances went by Fran/Frannie. But why their parents did that to them I will never know.

That used to be how it was done (very similar or rhyming names), along with lots of matching outfits. Times have changed; now we're told to accentuate they are two individual people.

Jasmin and Jaslyn

I know this true and not an urban legend because they were in one of my classes back when I was teaching.

I also know someone who named her sons (not twins, separated by 5 years or so) Devin and Devon. That's the worst one to me.

Oof. Are Devin and Devon pronounced the same?

No, but close enough. Everytime I see her post about them on FB I'm confused about why she did that again.

Samuel and Ella. Sounds perfectly normal right up until you are calling them both into the house: "Sam and Ella, time for dinner!"

Another thread about naming twins had me thinking about twins I know in real life they had some “what were they thinking” naming patterns. From my HS and college days I know twins named:

Karen and Erin
Cody and Brody
Heaven and Feaven (pronounced Heaven with an F)
Chance and Lucky

Anyone have others to share that make them giggle? (And no, your aunt who is a teacher didn’t have students named Dijon and Dijonaise or Limoncello and Orangecello — that’s urban legend that always comes up!)
