Personally I think the 10pm restriction is dumb but it applies to equally to everyone. It's wishy washy and hypocritical to only allow some to serve past 10, the ones that pay the special license/tax. To me, at that point it is no longer about COVID or health, but of revenue.

I imagine it could seen that way to someone who doesn't care about the hundreds of thousands of deaths - those people were "nobody" after all, according to Trump. But that's not really the point of this thread.

Does anybody know about the proposal from the Montgomery county council to allow businesses to serve alcohol between 10 pm and midnight only with a special paid permit? This feels like another special tax and money grab. If the concern is about Covid, then why is there an exemption only if you can pay up?

Either allow businesses to resume operations under their standard alcohol license or not. But to make a special exemption only with a special Covid license is ridiculous.
