Subject: Pacifica - Hybrid vs. AWD
I have 55,000 trouble-free miles on my Pacifica. Had a Toyota before, but am totally happy with the Chrysler.

Same for me. No need.

If I were you I would wait for the 2021 Toyota Sienna. It's a hybrid and way better than Chrysler.

Pacifica's still occupy the bottom of most reliability ratings. I would be looking at Toyotas or Hondas

We absolutely love our Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. My work is 10 miles from home so the range of it is perfect most days for back and forth to work plus a short errand or two...all in an overnight plug in charge on a regular house outlet.
As for New England, we had it less than a month and drove it from VA to Maine and didn’t put gas in until we reached the ME/NH border. Absolutely amazing performance. Granted, the gas mileage sucks when you’re in all-gas mode on mountains and such. But it is a gloriously powerful engine in electric, and if your day to day commute is around home, you can go for months without ever getting gas. With COVID, I literally went from late February to early July without needing gas. We use free charging sometimes but mostly just change at home on a regular 3-pronged outlet.

We have the packfica hybrid. We just plug it in the garage at night a d we basically only use gas when we go pn road trips. It’s easy. We did get spoiled with never buying gas, though.
One thing is that the hybrid (at least the 2018) doesn’t have the 8th seat option. That was fine with us as we never used it in our old Odyssey. We like the captain’s chairs.

We have an SUV (2013 Volvo XC90) but it's no longer working for our family with three kids under 7, including a baby. I am interested in a minivan and it seems like the Pacifica is the best on the market right now.
We plan to use the van mostly in the city (so dropping off kids at school/activities and driving to work). We also envision taking road trips to New England and down the east coast to the beach.
I am interested in the hybrid, but have never owned a hybrid vehicle. AWD is not available on the hybrid. Do I need AWD for road trips? What else do I need to consider when deciding between hybrid and regular models?
