NP here, I am a teacher, and I'm confused. How do noise canceling headphones keep my class from hearing noise?
I think that the request that people not come on my property to do loud things when class is in session is reasonable.

My impression is that OP set it up on the street right next to their curb. OP, I think you can ask but you can’t enforce it. All you could do is kindly suggest that if it continues to be a noise issue, you’ll have to take it down.

If the answer is "no" to either then it's no different than any other neighborhood ambient noise (lawn mowers, barking dogs, neighbors listening to music outside, etc).

Is the hoop on the street or on your driveway?
I know people who put it on the street - which makes it public use. So you can not dictate when people use it.

I would tell them it can't be used until after school, assuming it's on your property. You're being a good neighbor by letting them use it in general.
Now, if you just happen to live near a basketball court but it doesn't belong to you, that's your tough luck.

We have a basketball in front of her house(quiet street) and a few neighbors have been using it on what I assume if their breaks from school. The only problem is, that I am a teacher, so loud bouncing can be heard during my lessons.
I really hate to tell the kids they can’t, because it’s great they are out playing and getting exercise, but my office window faces the street and it is really loud.
