OP here in case helpful for others in a similar boat. Despite the initial crazy low lining the letrozole worked and actually got my lining to over 8 for the first time. So to any women who felt similarly devastated when estrogen didn’t work, happy to share the that a letrozole protocol helped thicken my lining (and for resins I don’t understand you don’t have to take POI injections, so small bonus).

Doctor if there’s anything else that can be done to salvage this cycle or if we have to go back to the drawing board.

just scrap this cycle. Its not worth it to move forward with such a thin lining. Try vitamin E, plenty of protein and avocado. Vitamin E takes a couple months to work but it does help thicken the lining a little.

Thank you, PP! So helpful to hear that you had a similar issue and that ultimately it worked out for you. That gives me hope!

ugh, OP. unfortunately doing IVF does indeed make you a science project.

the thickest my lining ever got was during a medicated TI cycle with letrozole. unfortunately, that resulted in a chemical pregnancy.

i did 3 embryo transfers. first was a medicated FET (cause fresh transfer canceled cause thin lining). oral and vaginal estrogen got me to 7 point something. failed. second was a fresh transfer at 7 point something. also failed. third attempt at FET got me some weird cysts in my uterus that got that cycle canceled. third FET cycle was natural cycle with trigger and lining was exactly 7. success.

I am so sorry that your cycle was canceled! That’s really hard. Virtual hug!

Thank you both PPs! The SGF nurses said to keep taking vaginal estrogen and not make any adjustments, just to come back in four days for another check to see if it has thickened. They said even if it stays thin they may still go ahead with an FET because the rest of the uterus looked fine. They really didn’t seem worried and assured me plenty of people have gotten pregnant with thin lining. I want to believe them but I also feel like SGF is always positive and optimistic and then things don’t work out. So part of me is relieved they didn’t seem super concerned and the other part is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Which feels very on brand for IVF!

PP here with the historically thin lining. I had been on estrogen shots and SGF had me add estrace vaginally, to supplement my estrogen levels to PP suggested. Worth asking about. Hang in there!!

So sorry! Can they supplement your estrogen? Also, depending on what cycle day you are there is still a little time to thicken it. I know it's stressful, hang in there and let us know what your doctor says.

OP here - just had my lining check and it was 6.7. I drank a ton of pomegranate juice and increased my daily activity for blood flow and somehow it was lower than my last FET :/. Waiting for call with next steps, but feeling discouraged.

Good luck!! It can be so frustrating to be told to keep trying, but sometimes that’s the answer.

OP here - that really helped me to hear. Thank you!!

There is a lot of info on the Internet. If I remember correctly, pomegranate juice, cherry juice, certain kinds of teas you can drink. Also, acupuncture and uterine massage.

Hello!

I’m newish to this forum but grateful to the incredible advice and kindness of all. I’ve got PCOS and did three IUIs (1 miscarriage, 2 BFN) and 1 IVF FET (BFN). I’m getting ready for my next embryo transfer and of course going through that mental strain of “but what can I do to make it work this time?!” Every cycle I’ve had thin uterine lining (6-7). My SGF doctor says she’s gotten people pregnant with thinner linings and I shouldn’t worry. She says I’ve just had a lot of bad luck. But internet rabbit holes say uterine lining under 8 is rarely successful.

Did anyone else have this problem? Any advice on how to thicken lining? Or should I just listen to doctor and assume FET didn’t work because of more bad luck?

Thank you!
