Opponents wouldn’t necessarily notice it, but at my DDs team some starters dropped down to subs and some subs became starters. Mostly due to fitness maintenance/improvement over the last 6 months. High school aged kids.

Haven't noticed it myself, including several of our opponents.

Team training was allowed starting July 1 I think. My kid's team is fine.

My DD team is definitely off. The coaches were sending out a lot of work over the off time. It is very clear who was not doing the work, running, study over the time off.
Team wise, they are off, not in sync. Very inconsistent right now.

We are on a new team although we were familiar with all of the players and level of play.
I'm surprised at how the year is starting but your post just put it in perspective. They are no where close to where I remember them being.

teams and individual players are not as sharp. It will be fine by spring. Teams have to review everything they did LAST fall just to get back in sync.

I have a limited sample size, but does anybody think the players might have regressed quite a bit with the lay-off, not just technically but tactically? Some of these kids were soccer-smarter two years ago.
