24/50 states require some form of assessment. 8/24 require standardized tests, 10/24 allow parents to choose between standardized tests and portfolio review, 3/24 require tests some years and allow parents to choose the other years, MD requires portfolio review and 2/24 leave it up to district (I’m in MA, and it’s up to district here; we were given 5 choices, and we chose portfolio review for k, portfolio and test for 4th).

Setontesting has standardized testing as well as diagnostic. You can also contact most curriculum companies, and they have placement tests geared specifically to their curriculum.

well I still pay taxes to support mcps. Mcps is also doing our homeschool review.

Not officially, but just so I can see where she is at with reading? Is there something similar that I could test her on that gives a similar score?
