that is so cute. I love toddlers! mine never wanted something in both hands, but he definitely loved to carry things around.

My youngest always asks for another for her older sister. We have had to really work on my older daughter politely declining things.

My 17-month old does this. She will automatically reach out for the same item with her other hand. I thought she would soon grow out of it but I guess not LOL.

+1 - my oldest used to love to carry puzzle pieces and coasters.

Yes! DD even needed one reward for each hand eg. Stickers after gymnastics class or whatever. ALWAYS “one for each hand”, if she used her manners.

She’s now 3.5 and doesn’t ask anymore. Funny how that faded, but it still makes me smile 😀

Two? Pfft. That’s nothing. My DD rolls 6-7 stuffed animals deep, dragged/carried/forgotten all over the house. Oh, and now they each need 2-3 barrettes in their fur so that’s fun reattaching those all day long. Enjoy your two. Come back when you’re wrestling a cranky toddler, 3 stuffed rabbits, 1 stuffed cat, 1 stuffed otter, and a plush panda upstairs for her nap

No but mine is a hoarder. She scoops large piles of whatever and carries them around - stuffed animals, cars, dolls, legos, one or two is not enough. Always arm loads... It is cute watching her try to get just one more in her pile

I would say typical, and also adorable. I loved this stage.

We took a 12-hour road trip and the only thing that kept my toddler from screaming was having a cracker in each hand. She wasn’t eating them, but when she dropped one it had to immediately be replaced. I think we went through 10 packs of crackers. It was worth the giant mess.

If you don’t give him two of anything he holds up his empty hand and says, “empty, fill please” or “two”. He has to hold two cars, two flowers, two crackers, two strawberries, etc.

Typical or weird?
