No, Lexus holds their value MUCH better than Mercedes. Especially the SUVs.

After 3 years, a GX460 with a 65K MSRP and a GLS450 with an 85K MSRP are both going to be worth ~45k.

But a new Toyota. The technology has changed quite a bit I. The past three years. Plus some people really really ride their cars rough. I’ve seen a lot.

Why is Acura so bad now?

The newer Toyota exterior designs are terrible.

How many years old are you thinking? The safety features of new cars makes it worth thinking about new.

We recently bought a new Acura sedan for less than the similarly equipped Honda of the same size. No issues so far and really like the car.

I had a new Honda Accord for almost 11 years and recently sold it & then bought my FIL’s Lexus that he had leased for 3 years then bought at the end of the lease. He took such good care of it though - it was like getting a new car. I like both cars.

Buy a new Toyota. Not Honda unless it’s a civic/accused/pilot.

These days old cars have gotten extraordinarily expensive. Often it is now worth buying new if there is significant mileage on a used car, plus the added maintenance costs that come with an older car.

Was looking at used Acuras and for the $27,000 one off lease would cost, trying to decide if I am better off with a new mainstream car. Seems at least I would not be worrying about prior maintenance. Yes, you give up some leather and soundproofing, but with stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, etc. how they drive is not radically different.

If you have debated this, what was your decision?
