Subject: Can girls play on boys teams until certain age?
Get rid of gender based teams. Best players play on best team regardless of gender and so on down the team hierarchy. Same with tennis and golf.

The only thing you should have asked to yourself is does she fit in skill wise and playing wise with the team?

Soccer is spectrum friendly; considers multiple options, alternatives, and possibilities that allow all humans that identify as soccer players to participate. Please consider this without complete binary thinking. Boys don't have to be 'bad' players to play on female-gendered teams, nor do girls have to be 'very good' to play with a male-gendered team. Players may just prefer that team's style or dynamic. We should embrace this at all age levels . .

sometimes it happens because the coach needed players and recruited the girl during U8 or U9.
OR you have a super type A parent who insists that the girl plays on a boys team.
OR the girl wants to play on a boys team, parent is supportive, she tries out, and makes the team.
OR its a small club and the girls team for that age isn't very competitive or they only have rec for that age.
Rarely seen past U12 / U13 though. By then, the parents find an appropriate girls team.

If girls who are very good are allowed to play on buys teams because it helps their development, should boys who are very bad be allowed to play on girls teams? If not, why not? Discuss.

Yes girls can guest play on boys teams. Have seen it several times in the younger age groups.

My daughter guested for a boys team in tournaments all the time (U9-U11)- not sure if league rules are different

On a related note, can girls guest play on boys teams? We are in a tight sport for a game where only 8 players can show up (U12) and our neighbor's daughter offered to guest play for our son's team. We have had zero luck finding male guest players to date.

yup. It usually ends by 11 or so due to puberty or whatever, but it’s not unheard of. For the strongest girl players, playing with same-age boys is often a way to get more rapid development.
