Nobody should use DCUM as a primary information source - including MCPS.

It was one element on a slide showing several ways people in the community have been sharing feedback.

what did they say?

MCPS IF YOU ARE READING THIS OPEN THE SCHOOLS!!!!!

Lol yes exactly. Why on earth is MCPS getting their info from DCUM?! But in any event, open the schools. This is insanity. Strive for risk mitigation (schools with kids in masks etc) not risk elimination (no school for a goddamn year!)

+1
How about MCPS be a leader for once, open and let the other local systems follow. IT WILL BE FINE.

You're saying that, based on what?

They said earlier that they would be discussing reopening metrics, but they've been going through virtual learning propaganda. Did I miss it, or haven't they gotten to it yet?

Principals are each sharing a short clip from one of their teachers working with a class. This is interesting!

They are showing slides now and talking about feedback from the community and they have a post from DCUM (about how a kindergartener was doing).

Has anyone been watching? They've been on an unscheduled break for a while now- initially it was until 11:30, and now it says until 12:00.

There's a discussion about how "reopening" of schools is going but I don't see any specific votes proposed.

The agenda is interesting - public comments by both teachers and parents all seem in favor of reopening, at least 2Q if not sooner.

Anyone have any idea if the board might make changes to the current elementary school schedule at the meeting today? (specifically K-2)
