Peace with that. Would be nice if they did but oh well.

If it's any consolation the procedure is fast. ~45 min in and out, you can play music once you're in the room with the little one.

Waiting was the worst part about the whole thing. I arrived at 9 am. I was instructed no food or drink, incl. water, after 8 am. I didnt go into operating room until 5:30 pm.

Agree with just let them handle the shaving. My incision was above my natural hair line but they shaved the area where my hair is very light and downy.

I left my rings at home because I didn’t want to risk losing them. Just figured it was safer.

They shave just where they need to cut. I wouldn’t bother trying to attempt it myself. They know where to go.

Agree with the above, be prepared to wait. My in laws were annoyed that my daughter was born two hours after the planned surgery because they had places to be (that’s another story). Guys, I at least gave you a general time and set date!

my rings didn't fit, so I wasn't wearing them, but I do think they ask you to leave all jewelry at home and I had a Brazilian before going into labor (didn't know I would have to have a C) in case of tearing, etc, people say it's easier to take care of after... and I always get them anyway.

They just shaved the top for me where the incision goes. Not the whole thing.

I wore my rings but probably should have left them at home- I swelled a lot post surgery and they weren’t comfortable. I did wear the necklaces I wear every day and wasn’t asked to take them off (they are short without pendants).

In my experience feel free to take it easy the first day but after that try to walk around a bit even if it is a little difficult. It will help you feel better sooner and also will help you pass gas sooner. Which you need to do to be discharged I think.

Two (probably dumb) planned c-section questions: first, did you wear your wedding rings to the hospital or leave them at home?
Second, when they shave your pubic hair pre-surgery, is it a full shave or do they just trim the hair back? And is it the whole area they do or just where the incision goes? I am just trying to figure out if I should try and take care of the hair myself before going to the hospital.

Also, if you have any other c-section advice or tips, I’d appreciate them.
