I didn't used to tip in all instances pre-pandemic, but I do now.

Someone is risking their life to go into work and make my food so I can social distance. They 1000% deserve it. Same with grocery delivery.

I am the PP. I always feel poor on DCUM. I know that we are not, and are thankful we have jobs. But the majority on here make a lot more than we do. I was trying to make a point that even though we are not rich for this area we tip generously


You are rich for this area. DCUM is not the same as this area. Median HHI is $82K in DC.

I understand your reasoning, but the restaurant should increase their prices so the person packing the food can be paid a high enough non-tip wage.

If it is somewhere I never would have tipped rating at (quick casual, fast good, etc) pre Covid then I do not tip now.

If it is a mainly sit down restaurant that is now also doing take out I tip 10% for my take out.
