Depending on how strict they are, they can do it as long as they are within their local eruv.

What city were you in? In the DMV area, I think they are much more likely to be orthodox Jews than fundamental Christians.

Met a couple of friends at a usually deserted playground this morning and there were 2 woman there with 3 kids. As we got out of our cards they started at us for a almost a minute. They were both wearing long denim skirts, and long sleeve blouses. I understand the religious aspect of keeping skin covered but is there a religious connection to the long denim skirt? When I see people dressed like this I think “ fundamentalist Christians “ who probably homeschool their kids and are very subservient spouses. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong....... but my general question is the denim skirts?
