How long have you been a radiation therapist? If you have less than 5 years under your belt I would not stay out for 2 years.

+1. No question. Stay home.

If YOU want to stay home, do it.

Don't do it because your husband wants you to.

Don't do it because you think you'll be able to go back to it easily in 2 years.

Do it because you want to spend the nex 2-4 years at home with your kids, and it's okay with you if you arne't able to get back to work like you want to and 2 years.

You say you don't want to quit and you miss work. Does your work allow flexibility? What exactly do you do?

OP here. He is finance and makes more than enough for him to be the sole provider. He has a very stable job and we do savings if anything were to ever happen.

Being pregnant does put you in a high risk group.

But also, it should be your idea to stay home. Don't do it because your DH suggested it. Do it because that's what you want to do with your time.

OP here. There is some risk with my job. I’m a radiation therapist and I do work with sick patients and can be exposed to low levels of radiation. I’m also on my feet 90% of the day. It was very tough for me at the end of my last pregnancy. I needed up taking maternity leave early.

I have a 1 year old and I’m pregnant with my second child. I have been home since my first was born. I had planned to go back at 6 months but then the pandemic hit and I decided to stay home. I work in the medical field and my husband thinks it might be best to stay home. I’m older ( 39) and he feels it will be a lot of stress on me to worry be on my feet all day and worry about my job. I don’t want to quit. I have loved being at home but I do miss work and being around adults. I also do like the idea of not being in a hospital and being less stressed staying home. If I did quit, I would probably stay home for 1-2 more years. I do worry about taking that long of a gap in my career. I do not plan to be a SAHM and know that is not the right choice for me. We would have my child in daycare and I would be ad work if the pandemic didn’t hit. Would you quit your job and stay at home for 1-2 more years?
