Our charter has 2-2.5 hours a day - morning welcome, small group, break, small group, special, optional lunch. My older PK4 kid has a good attention span, but it's still too much. We'll probably give it to the end of the week, then officially move to just stopping after the second small group.

DCPS immersion school: we will have one 30 minute morning meeting, small group 2 times a week, and family checkins once a week. This is all I plan to have my son participate in but there is also a daily whole school morning meeting, specials once a week for 45 minutes.

Our charter has four 30 minute sessions daily plus three weekly specials.

I can’t imagine any prek4 has all day online. That’s not developmentally appropriate.

Our charter has a 30 minute morning meeting, the a 20 minute small group lesson an hour later in the morning. Then a 30 minute language lesson 2x per week in the afternoon. Plus lots of asynchronous lessons and materials. The pluses are the broken schedule is great for her attention span and she shows up really engaged to live learning. The downside is its a brutal schedule to juggle working and childcare.

our DCPS PK3 kid has a 30 minute morning meeting, and a 30 minute small group every day, and a 1:1 with his teacher once a week. I think it's a really reasonable schedule.

Basically same for our DCPS PK3 kid. I will note that our teacher told us that they had requested that the live sessions not be back-to-back, but that the PK schedule was determined at the district level. So I expect all DCPS PK students are on this schedule. Charters presumably have more leeway in both amount of live instruction and the timing.

At our charter it's only 30 minutes a day for the first four weeks, plus a weekly 1:1 with the teacher that lasts 30 minutes. After the first 4 weeks we will have more. Your school sounds normal to me, although kind of a pain to have to log back on after finishing up.

My son is at a charter school for prek 4 and they’re only doing one hour in the morning, then come back for 15 mins early afternoon. Are other dcps prek 4 going to be online all day? Or is this the norm for prek 4?
