She’s 15, has played travel for years and played high school, and now she doesn’t even want to go to practice because she thinks she won’t be able to play in the mask. I have ordered a couple different kinds for her to try, including the underarmour mask. I told her she can’t just quit soccer over this and she needs to go to practice. Soccer is a stress reliever for her and loves her team. Advice??
Please be kind in your responses - I really can’t take hearing things about how she’s a snowflake and this isn’t a real problem. Just asking for advice from other soccer parents on how to approach this.
Football, hockey and lacrosse all wear stuff that is much more restrictive. Time to parent up. Tell her she is going, she signed up and has made a commitment to the club, coach and her teammates. After one practice she will get the hang of it. It’s not that big of a deal. Everyone else will be doing it.
