I just feel bad for the kid. I don't think it is the coach's fault. In an email that went out the club oversold what would be done for the kids who could not play contact.
My child is playing full contact, but his closest friend on the team is not. I was disappointed to see the options that he was given - not much. The coach had him sit on the sidelines for scrimmages and he did passing drills and rondos with the team. That was it. He was offered the opportunity to scrimmage in goal, but declined it. That made sense to me because contact is still possible.
