Why would students need second monitors? I understand that they are useful for teachers who are screen sharing to be able to see their students. My 15 yr ols has one screen. I am a teacher and I am thinking of taking his screen to be my second screen and he can just use his laptop.

Golly my senior has just a laptop. Are your kids running trading desks?

Also we love that Samsung curved monitors. Ods has one.

I am not sure what you mean by multiple screens, but my kids have large monitors and then one also has a surface tablet with stylus and the other has a Wacom tablet that is connected to his computer. They both use the tablets for writing math out by hand among other things.

I bought a second monitor on Amazon, back in June when I realized I was going to be working from home for a long time. I was a little leery of ordering something like this from Amazon as well, but I've been very happy with it.

Interestingly, the curved monitor was the least expensive of the options I was looking for, and I really like it. Not sure of your price range, but I ordered: Samsung LC27F398FWNXZA Samsung C27F398 27 Inch Curved LED Monitor. $170.

Ended up getting 2 HP 23.8 inch monitors for both kids. That plus their laptops should do it.

School provided laptop, but just using it as backup. He has regular gaming desktop with webcam and just purchased second monitor to have larger split screens. His gaming computer (I.e. now school computer during the day - and yes I’ve threatened to delete his games off the computer if he opens them during school hours! ) is hard wired into the router so there are fewer connection issues. He’ll have the FCPS laptop on and sitting on his writing/homework desk just in case there is something he can’t access without the FCPSon hardware. We also bought a Small second desk mentioned above for writing/homework. His “gaming” chair can move between both desks - they’re in an L shape together. DS is in 10th grade.

The child I had to buy a computer for is getting the second monitor. Turns out the child his computer is supplied by the school also needs a second monitor this year. So now I’m buying two monitors. I’m assuming they need at least 24 inch so that they can have multiple things open on the second monitor screen.

OP here. I just asked my sons new high school advisor. The answer was that he will need a second screen by the way they will be running their classes. So, that answers my question. Off to look for a decently priced decent second screen at Best Buy or Micro Center… Hoping they still have them in stock.

Ours did well in the spring with one screen plus a phone or tablet for Kahoots. I don’t know if anything will be different this fall.

So, DS has a MacBook Air we just bought him for HS. At his school they provide the computer until eighth grade. You need to provide your own in high school. I’m wondering though if we need to invest in a second screen for him? Does your child have a set up with two screens or just working off one screen? My child has orientation this week and he will ask that question himself. I’m simply crowdsourcing myself.
