My two year neighbor called my husband “Mr. Ms. [My Name].” That’s our favorite thing ever.

I don't set up false uncle and aunt titles. That makes those adults seem like they have authority over my children. You want your kids to be set up for "keep a special secret with Uncle Joe"?

Agree. I had to adjust for daycare but we don’t use Ms/first name anywhere else. Close friends we say auntie or uncle. Neighbors it’s a mix depending on how they intro themselves or if they are my elder. I try to use their preference. When I was a child it was strictly Mrs/Mr/Ms / last name.

First names, but usually, they manage to have conversations without names.

My kids don't call my neighbors anything other than their name, if they know it - but they don't talk to them, only to me about them.

Mr/Ms/Mrs (last name), very close friends or close older relatives are aunt/uncle (first name)

Mr / Miss first name.
I do not know last names of tons of people and have a harder time recalling them.

Usually Mr./Mrs. So and So.

My closest female friends are Miss Larla to them.

Either by their first name if we are all close or Mr./Ms./Mrs. Last name. We don't do Ms./Mr. First name. Weird to me.

When my kids were little, we pushed, ‘Ms. Jennifer’ or ‘Mr. Ben,’ to follow the daycare / preschool teacher nomenclature.
But when they went to elem school, we switched (again, to follow) Mrs. and Mr. Last Name.

But... I love the nomenclature of my Indian friends, where everyone is an Uncle or Auntie. Everyone gets the same name!

We taught DD to say Mr./Ms. [First Name]. It’s how DH’s family did it. I grew up saying either Mr./Ms./Mrs. [Last Name] or just their first names for close family friends.

That is not customary where I am from or live, so no.

In my old neighborhood we referred to them as Ms. Rebecca or Mr. Thomas. Now I’ve moved to Maryland but I’m wondering if this is universal. What about older neighbors? I grew up saying Mr Smith and Ms Nguyen. Is there a universal plan now? I don’t even know all of my daughters friends last name bc I can’t go into her classroom.
