OP, I'm soon to be divorced, and I wonder about all this too. I dont know anyone who uses protection for oral! And yet it's the only way to be safe. But it also takes all the fun and sensation out of it, so then what's the point. I'm so confused. I feel like the "get tested every week! wear condoms!" people have never actually had casual sex?

You can have oral sex with condoms. If you are a woman receiving oral sex, you can use dental dams if you feel that is necessary, based on your risk assessment.

I think I’m interested in some sort of casual relationship/FWB situation. I’m too busy for a full blown relationship right now, but want sex twice a week. I figure this is not hard to find with the dating apps. However, I’ve never had a casual relationship before. Not sure about STD safety though. I have had two partners before, one was a virgin and one we both got tested before being intimate. How does safe sex work when you don’t assume you and the other person are monogamous?
