This thread makes me a little sad because I would have loved to have had kids so close together. Congrats Op!

Mine are 21 months apart. Youngest is about to turn 2 and it’s getting easier. I found the newborn period to him crawling not so hard. I was exhausted but he was a portable blob and we were already in baby mode. The two little mobile kid stage is hard. Now that they play together, I see how it will get easier as time goes on.

Mine are twenty months apart. Things were very difficult for the first two years. No sleep, I felt like I was constantly needed, 2 in diapers is difficult. Potty training the older kid with a newborn is difficult. We did a lot of takeout.

But since the youngest was 2 it has been pretty awesome. They are each other’s best, best friends and I love their relationship.

I had 4 in 4 years. You will be fat and gray by mid 40s but you will be fine!

But if you say mine are 25 months apart I will beat you.

Mine are 18 months apart. Extremely difficult for two years but now that they're 5 and 6, it's so easy. They entertain each other and aside from the occasional fight, they really are best friends.

I have a 4 month old and a 26 month old (2 under 2 for two months they are 22 months apart). Honestly it has been the hardest work of my life over these past 4 months (we took our older son out of childcare when baby was born due to covid). He is extremely high energy and finding safe things to keep him busy and while I try to put baby down for nap or finish a nursing session are very difficult. Lots of screens I’m sad to admit. However, there has been no jealousy and they already adore each other which is magical. I just see this time as the trenches which makes me sad because I’m almost rushing my newborn out of her current babyness. Sigh.

Talk to my mother. When I was born I was #4 and #1 didn’t turn four until three months later.

OP here. Yes technically but they will only be two weeks apart from my son turning 2 and the birth. That’s why I put 2 under 2. It’s technically 2 under 3.

Seriously. You don’t have two until the second is born. And the first will turn two before that time. Is that really that hard to grasp?

I had a similar spread - 25 months. It was great.

Mine at 17mths apart and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Makes it so easy to keep similar schedules, have joint activities, same types of things hold their interest. They are now 9 and 10 and the best of friends. They play so well together and with each other’s friends. Love love love it. Was it crazy? Yeah. You get through it.

I’m due in October with my second child. My son is turning 2 next month. He is a great little boy but I know things will be chaotic. How was your experience?
