The bars aren't going to do a damn thing. I follow kids from both schools and UNC on TikTok. This is what their evenings look like.

Really because Alabama is not.

654 cases as of this evening and they are not reporting all cases. That's winning!!!!!

Meh shutting the bars isn't going to matter much. You only capture the legal 21 and fake ID crowd. I went to Auburn for a couple years a while back (transferred out closer to hom but most students partied at frat houses, which can easily hold 200+ people or private apartment parties, which can easily hold 50+ people. These kids will get creative. They ain't going to be staying in their dorms on a Friday night that's for sure.

Not a UA fan, but it's a huge school. That's about 1.5% of the student population (some of which showed up sick, despite entry testing). Auburn is about the same size, so their rate is about .5% of the student body.

According to this, less than 20% of their isolation rooms are occupied.

Yes, they should have shut down the bars to begin with, but they have now. We'll see how it goes.

Some of you seem awfully invested in not having students on campus.

Sorry -- 531. Since 6 days ago.

A total of 531 confirmed cases between students, faculty and staff were reported on the Tuscaloosa campus since classes resumed Aug. 19, UA announced Monday evening

Neither - can't risk the football season.

My friend works at Auburn and she said that back in March and April students were still partying and not taking things seriously. She also said that on May 1st, everything reopened in Alabama and it was not gradual. It was like a switch had been flipped. She was not happy about that in the least! I texted her earlier to ask how things are going at Auburn. Waiting to hear back...based off what she told me earlier this year, it's probably not going to be good.

Do your kids go there? Why comment then if you are saying if someone's kids don't go there not to worry about it?
