But we often still take the stroller out, especially if we're going somewhere more than a few blocks away. It's convenient to be able to throw a picnic blanket and a cooler in the bottom. Plus, then she has the option of riding in the stroller if she gets hot or wants to take a catnap later.
This works for us, and I could see us doing it for at least another year, especially if she's going to be at home instead of in school for that long. I'm sure we'll get rid of it before she hits kindergarten (I think she'll just be too big for it), but I don't understand the implication that using a stroller somehow inhibits them from walking. I wouldn't even judge people letting a 5 or 6 year old ride in a stroller sometimes. I have no idea how long they've been out or why the kid is in the stroller. I don't view it as some terrible thing.

We live in a pretty walkable area, so taking my 3.5 year old around on a stroller is convenient - I don't want to drive everywhere and both of us being on foot would make any trip much longer. However, sometimes I wonder if she's getting too old for this![]()
