books for sure! much more usable.

I've used several different books including picaboo, mixbook and apple's book. All of them have been great. They each have different benefits depending on how much you want to create your own layouts, or have pre-made template, integration with photo storage, etc.

I just replied - I would go with a pro lab or the consumer arm of a pro lab. I like Printique (used to be called Adoramapix), but MPIX, Nations Photo Lab, and Bay Photos are also good.

Books, but I would find a place like Printique that offers books printed on archival photo paper instead of something like Blurb/Shutterfly. It's more expensive, but at least you know your photos will last.

I have the same question as OP and would also like recommendations on where you get good quality prints and books. We have used Shutterfly in the past but my last book from them was lower quality than in the past so I'm interested in other options.
