Technically yes but you will feel like you live in a hotel. I lived in a smaller studio - 400 sq ft- for a number of years and had a full size bed. No, but I also don’t want to live in a studio apartment. But this is what I have and my only option ATM.

+1 this is a good way to think about it. Also consider the shape of the apartment. If it’s a perfect square, it’s going to be hard to create a separate sleep space. Are there any nooks or spaces where a queen could fit for the illusion of privacy/separate space?

A king sized bed is about 42 sq ft. In order for a room to be comfortable, you'll need thirty inches on three sides of the bed. This is about 48 sq ft. In total, you'll need 90 sq ft of space. Thats 18% of your total space. Do you want almost a fifth of your apartment to be your bed?

King size mattress is 42.15 sq ft.
Seems like too much for my taste, but it should fit if the room is a square, and not odd dimensions.

Depends what else you want in your one room. Table? Sofa? But honestly, if you are living alone you can easily sleep in a queen or full, and if there are two of you, you need more space and/or two rooms.
