There’s a different pack for each letter. I do two weeks for vowels, one week for consonants, and I bring in crafts when kids ask.

Do khan kids with handpicked “assignments” each day for quiet time. Again, it’s free, and while it’s screen time, even the playing with “prizes” is educational. ABC mouse is another option, but it doesn’t have social-emotional content, and it’s not free ($9.99/week).

I haven’t read any advice so far that would make me feel better with this added responsibility.

I would definitely talk to your nanny and tell her that you know this is not what she signed on for initially and tell her now the amount of the bonus you will be giving her every month to compensate. This way everything is clear and she knows going in that she is appreciated and will be rewarded.

Also check in with her every week.

Just get a few workbooks and be done with it. I don't see that as homeschooling as you need to teach a 3 year old.

+1 to the screens for an hour for the 3 year old idea.

I actually think a monthly $$ bonus for homeschooling is a good fit. That way, when it ends it's easy to go back to her normal rate, and she gets extra cash.

Is your oldest allowed screens? I would allow the 3year old to watch a movie or something while the 2yo is napping so at least she knows she has am hour/2 hours of downtime in the afternoon.

I think a nice giftcard ( to somewhere you know she likes, not some random restaurant) once a month or so might be nice.

I imagine other families are in a similar situation and am looking for some feedback on what we can do for our amazing nanny.

Our kids are 3.5 and almost 2. The oldest would normally be attending a part-time preschool three days a week, but we made the tough decision not to send her because she has some underlying medical issues. Our nanny is game for doing a homeschool curriculum with her and possibly the little guy that we will purchase, but I want to do something to compensate her for the extra work of (1) having both kids 24/7. 3.5 year old doesn't nap, which I know makes for a long day and (2) doing the preschool work. She is excited to do it but I know it is a little more than what she is used to doing with them and I want to keep her happy!

I was thinking of either a monthly "bonus" - but not sure of amount - or a raise. I do not think extra PTO would be of interest to her. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
