That is troubling. But sure, enjoy your games!
Ok we will. You can still stay hiding in your basement and we'll let you know when to come out.

Key information: Soccer and flag football are categorized as medium-risk in the report and on the county’s website, but will not be allowed until Phase 3. In a press release on Monday, Montgomery Parks listed soccer as high-risk.

Would you please identify the evidence-based assessments done by public health professionals that you referenced in your earlier email. I would like to read the reports, and understand how they support a different approach than the assessments done by the public health professionals for the State of Maryland. And perhaps why lacrosse is being treated as lower risk.

The date of that document is June 2020. Montgomery County elevated soccer to high risk about two weeks ago, which I understand it was entitled to do. Unless and until Montgomery County lowers soccer to medium risk, which would put it back in line with the rest of the state, the heightened restrictions applicable to high risk sports will still apply within Montgomery County.
Now the editorial: Why Montgomery County would do that for soccer while leaving lacrosse, which by design has kids nose to nose in faceoffs and has at least as much contact as soccer, a medium risk sport is beyond any rational explanation.
Because the NCAA redefined soccer as a high-risk sport in late July and many youth organizations and local governments are following those guidelines.
