I discovered my husbands affair by putting together a string of very minor details. The first one was at a post soccer game team dinner. Here’s one. When I was dating my DH, we weren’t telling anyone at work (we worked together). We are sitting having lunch, and he wanted to taste what I was drinking and just picked up my beverage and drank out of my straw. You don’t just do that with a work friend. It’s the really little things.

I think it is going to be different for different people. Some people distance more than normal. Others get a little closer than they normally would. I do mean both physically (standing close to talk, touching, sharing glasses without a 2nd thought) and emotionally (acting as if they like/dislike the other person in a way that is out of proportion to an acquaintence. Talking about the other person both good and bad, in order to deflect suspicion).
