15 months for the first and 13 months for the second.

First was graduate starting at 1 year, second was all at once when he bit me.

15 months - he just lost interest and I got pregnant so there probably wasn’t much milk.

I had a few women in my baby class tell me to wean at six months too - which I didn’t get. I work from home so at six to 12 months is when the baby still needed breastmilk or formula and it was so easy to nurse. Who wants to struggle with formula and bottles when you don’t have to? Now if I worked out of the house and had to pump it would be a different story.

This exactly what my kids, also a boy and a girl, did.

Baby #1: weaned at 18 months, had to gently wean. Baby #2: made the decision to wean exactly at 12 months when teeth came in and DC kept chomping on my nipples.

OP I think most people recommend that you try to BF until the age of 1, if possible. One is when you can start to transition to cow’s milk and when baby is supposed to start getting more nutrition from solid foods as well.

I weaned my first (not a good solid food eater) at 2 years and 3 months.

Currently breastfeeding an 11 month old. Baby is down to 3 feeds/day. I am ok to keep BF until COVID ends/stabilizes.

14 months. I phased it out a bit over months 13-14. I introduced cows milk around 12/13 months. Do what feels right for you and your child. Don’t talk MIL into consideration

what you were thinking (around 12 months or so) is what happened naturally with both my kids.

Both kids were about 1.5 years old.

Really think about what works for YOU and not what other people (especially MILs) think. Just know that when you are feeling done, if that’s at 6 months or at 26 months, you can wean your baby before they feel ready. When you are feeling done, that’s when it’s time.
