I recommend wrapping contents up with the diaper and removing/disposing of it in the outside trash. Never would I want that stuff to accumulate around the house. Pail or no pail

A lot of people I know register for two of the same item, like a breast-feeding pillow or diaper changing pad so they can have them on two different floors of the house. It could be that. I can’t explain the five diaper pails. That sounds like huge pain in the ass just to have to empty.

The comment about the cat made me laugh because we actually do use a spare Ubbi diaper pail in our garage for our cat (scoop litter into small bags and toss them in to the garage pail to empty every week or so). And no, before anybody jumps on saying how selfish it was for me to register for two diaper genies so I could use one for cat waste, that is not what happened! We got one for our baby, it started to smell super funky about six months in (One of their main claims is it’s not supposed to stink because it’s metal and doesn’t retain scent) and the nice people at the company replaced it free of charge. The stinky one stays in the garage. For the cat. Meow!

I never used a nursing pillow because I wanted to learn how to nurse anywhere and didn’t want to rely on it. I took your advice and I bought her boring stuff like socks and crib mattress. We bought 3 diaper pails, but we have a large house and put 1 on each floor. She probably made an error. I bought 2 boppy's. One for at home use and one I left in my car. FWIW, my breast friend is better! Ended up using it the most with my other children, too.

Two boppys is normal, 5 diaper pails are not. I would ask her about it. We have two though, one on different floors.

Some people are super concerned about poopie diapers and the smell but its really not been a problem. Admittedly my baby is not yet on solids but her diapers have been easy to manage. We have the Ubbi diaper pail upstairs, which we empty once per week on trash day. We throw the downstairs ones in the kitchen trash.

There's a boppy c-shaped pillow and a boppy lounger where the middle is filled in.

It's not totally crazy--I had two boppy pillows (one for upstairs and one for downstairs so I didn't have to carry it while holding a newborn and recovering from a c-section). And we also have 2 diaper pails (changing station upstairs and downstairs). But 5 diaper pails seems like a lot!!

I think she might have messed up her registry. That doesn't sound intentional. Call her and ask her if she meant to register for a separate boppy cover, and if she's decided which diaper pail she wants out of the 5 on the registry.
